Funereal Duskywing
Erynnis funeralis

Observation date: March 23, 2026
Submitted by: Janet Ruth
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I'm calling it a Funereal Duskywing based primarily on the Swift Guide and the bright white edges of the hind wings and the pale tan blotches on the forewings; but don't have real experience with this. Saw only two times over the days I was there; once on the ground near a bunch of flowering NM Olive that was covered with other butterflies and again (likely another individual) on a flowering ornamental (likely crabapple).
