Coordinator notes: This is the Hoary Comma...looks like a female (?)...the Satyr Comma lacks a definite dark border on the edge of the hindwings...it is often just a thin dark line or entire absent so the margin of the wings is light colored and the ground color is more uniformly to yellow without a lot of reddish (as this one shows). Best identified from the underside...the light bark-like striation markings is usually unmistakeable. Mike
