Observation notes: Individual initially perched in a screwbean mesquite tree then flew to a peachleaf willow tree during the photography session near the large pond. Location is the La Mancha Wetland Restoration Project site along the Rio Grande levee west of Mesilla, NM. The morning was warming, calm, and under full sun.

Coordinator notes: a recent article in Lep Soc Journal suggests Desert Viceroy could be a species distinct from regular Viceroy, which we have in northern NM.
