Observation date: December 30, 2025
Submitted by: santiesteban
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: It was lethargic, laying on a plastic park slide in the sun. It moved when prodded a bit. The park has texas ebony (Ebenopsis ebano) and anacahuita (Cordia boissieri), Monterrey oak (Quercus polymorpha) trees and other shrubs, succulents and cactus and grasses. I haven't seen a moth like thus before.

Coordinator notes: Not S. bicolor, which isn't found that far west. This is Syssphinx tamaulipasiana. A first for BAMONA. Great sighting! JRains
