Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...looks like a female based on the size of the white spots on the forewing. There have been several reports from earlier in the summer. The individual in your photo looks to be in very good condition...too good for a stray fly-in so it was probably a locally-grown, the offspring from one of those earlier summer female arrivals. So in this instances the Snout fits both classifications as a "Stray" or "Temporary Colonist." The Snout is incapable of surviving our winter in any stage. Some years are good for seeing them, in others they are not seen at all but usually happens with big flights in the southern home range. The host is Hackberry (Celtis)...native or cultivated. Thanks for the record. Mike
