Observation notes: This butterfly was nectaring on Blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum). When the sun set below the tall trees to the west and the flowers were no longer in the sun, these skippers started to disappear. They were very active, flying around and chasing each other when the sun was still shining on the flowers. Among them were Common Checkered-Skippers
(Burnsius communis), but I was unable to get close enough to take a good picture of one. I hope to get a picture of one before the season ends.
