Coordinator notes: The two species can't be separated by field marks and I know of no validated record for Common Checkered Skippers verified by male genitalia or genomics. Someone will have to collect a specimen to prove one in San Diego County. In Bakersfield we have both, but albescens predominates by far...Ken Davenport
