Orange Sulphur
Colias eurytheme

Observation date: August 26, 2025
Submitted by: Cascade Colors
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Not really sure which one this is; it seems pretty bright/saturated yellow in color, which reminds me more of Orange, but it had a pretty strong dingy color on the underwings, which made me wonder about Scudder's (though I don't know if Scudders can be such a rich yellow above).
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: A female Orange Sulphur or Alfalfa Butterfly...Scudder's is never has orange and almost never displays the three submarginal spots in a row you can clearly see in your photo and the underside ground color is usually to a grassy (-lighter-darker) uniformly green-scaled. Mike
