Observation notes: First time I've seen this one in Colorado. Though different colors, it reminded me a lot of the male Diana that I saw in TN.

Coordinator notes: Your ID is correct...very worn condition (subspecies charlottii). Always good to see something for the first time...always local when found. If you find aspen forest at around 8-9000 feet you have the best chance to see this fritillary in many places in western Colorado...that improves if there are ferns growing in the forest...likes a lot of moisture!
