Zebra Swallowtail
Neographium marcellus

Observation date: August 01, 2025
Submitted by: David Hauck
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This was the only butterfly of its kind making it stand out. It was with a large group of Spicebush swallowtails in the sand around an area where someone had dumped some charcoal. This butterfly was observed in Franklin County, Missouri along the Meramac River and does not belong in the area. It was shaking its tail at me and looked like a large bug more than a butterfly. The Spicebush were surrounding it when I first walked up to them.
