Observation notes: Male butterfly observed nectaring on our zinnia blooms, sunny day. We also have cosmos, lupin, sunflowers and more in our garden, but it kept circling and landing repeatedly on the zinnias. I didn’t observe it nectar from any other source during the 10 min of observation. For a period, there was a wasp or yellow jacket chasing it when it landed on zinnia, but the butterfly would fly off temporarily and circle back.
