Observation date: July 16, 2025
Date notes: This tiny butterfly measuring 1" x 1/4" is on a wall inside our home in Atlanta, Georgia 30342. We think it is a baby butterfly. It's been here for over 24 hours and it's still here. It has move around some so we know it is alive. Please identify it for us and tell us what we need to do to keep it alive (i.e, try to get it outdoors?). Thank you! Carol

Coordinator notes: Butterflies and moths don't get any bigger after they emerge from their pupa. This moth can't be identified to species without a ventral photo because these 2 look the same above. Adults only live a few weeks to breed and lay eggs.
