Coordinator notes: Hi. I thought this might be a Dun Skipper (Euphyes vestris), but my friend Jeff - an expert on skippers - writes, "As cool as it would be from a records perspective, the above individual is not Lerema accius. Your guess of Euphyes vestris would be my second option of possibilities, but the subapical chain is pretty bold for that species. I'm pretty certain this is a worn female Vernia verna/Pompeius verna aka Little Glassywing. The bolder subapical chain is more classic for the species, and the ventral HW spot chain has the central "offset" spot or "break" in the line also seen in the species. Base color would match well. I'm not seeing an obvious white base near the antennal club, but this isn't always seen in the species and is not a diagnostic criteria (but if present can be used in support). Another interesting and less commonly discussed ID point that can separate E. vestris from V. verna/P. verna is the presence of a middle tibia spine on the latter. E. vestris lacks this spine, and if you look closely, it appears it is present in this individual." JRains
