Observation notes: I was picking blueberries and saw this moth sitting quietly on a Canada Mayflower ( aka Wild Lily of the Valley) in Beltrami Island State Forest, Roseau Cty, MN. I asked an entomologist friend (Kyle Johnson) for help in identification and he told me it was a Hologram Moth. I also looked it up in my Moths and Caterpillars of the North Woods Field Guide. The habitat was a thinned red pine plantation, shady understory with moss, blueberries, Juneberries, Canada Mayflower, Pisissewa and with some small shrubs scattered about. The moth was resting and dinot move at all when I photographed it. Unfortunately, I had left my good camera at home and all I had was my cell phone.

Coordinator notes: Still, not too shabby for a cell phone!
