Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Feeding on yellow wild flower, and also resting on the sandy trail. I have not seen this species on Oak Point for 13 years. So surprised to find one, and then about 3 miles away I found another one on Steamboat Trail, here on Oak Point. Photo #1 is first one found, Photo #2 is second one found . Location is of the first one.
Status: Migrant

Coordinator notes: Nice find! Dainty Sulphurs tend to appear in clusters in the north, then remain absent for years in between (unsure why). It seems you are seeing a handful of southern migrants early in Minnesota. I wonder if there have been some strong southerly breezes pushing them northward with the heat? -Jeff Gesell
