Observation notes: This butterfly appeared different to me than the Hedgerow Hairstreak & Chris Tenney agreed with me when I showed him the photo of a female with longer tails in Glassberg's book. It was happily nectaring on a shrub somewhat in the shade of a cliff face in Arroyo Seco Canyon.
