Observation notes: There was a cloud of these butterflies at the Las Huertas Canyon picnic area that morning. Some flying, some resting on foliage, some puddling in the parking lot. Canyon bottom with a live stream, extensive tree cover, extensive understory brush, plants in flower. Sunny, pleasantly warm, calm to light breeze.
