Observation notes: Nectaring on Wax Currant. Wax Currant growing on dry slopes. Predominate flowering plant, preferred by all species of butterflies nectaring at this site. Two or three of these butterflies patrolling patches of Wax Currant. Location is Idlewild Campground in the Malheur National Forest. Elevation about 5,000 feet. Dry, Ponderosa Pine Forest along side a boggy meadow bordered by stream. Willow thickets and wildflowers near stream and in meadow.
