Observation notes: This butterfly was flitting around the yard among the 2 to 3 feet perennials and finally landed. It first landed on leaves of Iris virginica and then leaves of a Rudbeckia plant. Once landed in the sunshine I was able to get close to it. I had tried on some recent previous days, but the butterfly, it or a similar one, wouldn't land or stick around.
