Observation notes: I was able to get a ventral photo just barely clear enough to see there are not the 2 hind wing spots that would indicate Rocky Mountain. Also, this individual was very small. As it was at the bottom of the volcano I'm borrowing your suggestion that it's Afranius because Perseus would be a hilltopper.
