Observation notes: An individual perching out of the wind on velvet ash leaves and making patrol flights to find/select a mate. The site is along Sotol Creek at its crossing with the Pine Tree Trail near Aguirre Springs of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. Additionally, there was a single sootywing and two red-spotted purples active at this site. The midday was warm, windy, and partially cloudy.
