Observation notes: This was in our high tunnels on an unseasonably warm spring day - 65 F. It alighted on yellow flowers of bolting overwintered Asian greens (tatsoi, mizuna and other mustards). These were also attracting wasps and some tiny native bees. Wikipedia said the larval host for this is nettles (Urtica) or Pilea ( “clearweed”) and we have neither of those here in eastern Idaho. Any ideas what else it might lay eggs on? We always leave mustards to bolt in spring so the early out bees can get some nectar. We also have tulips, crocus, daffodils and grape hyacinth blooming inside. Everything outside our high tunnels is still just coming up or with barely swelling buds.
