Observation notes: My ID guess is based partly on the faint lateral line on the side of the caterpillar. I took the photo in 2015 and only now have I tried to ID it. I found it in shady, dry woods, so I don't think it can be G. cognataria, which is found in bogs, blueberries, and wet regions with open canopy.
