Observation notes: Observed at the Central Piedmont Virginia Master Naturalists’ 2024 Butterfly Count. First regional record. Flew by us a foot of so off of the ground, and landed in the grass. We ran it down and everyone got good looks. Partly cloudy, temps in upper 80’s, but incredibly muggy. Submitted to iNat as well.
