Observation notes: This caterpillar was seen in the road on a clear, hot, and humid day. Temp 78 degrees. Dewpoint 66 degrees. The caterpillar was in the middle of the road. This area has broken woods with oak, red and sugar maple, birch, and beech trees. There and also many eastern white pine and some spruce. There are the typical roadside weeds and plenty of poison ivy. The caterpillar was moving quickly along the length of the road.
