Observation notes: Observed near the opening of Mill Creek canyon as it flows towards the NW corner of Mono Lake. Three individuals nectaring here as a thunderstorm was rapidly approaching. Flowers were below a large Ponderosa Pine about 100 feet from the creek. Familiar with coast side arotas, these are slightly different. Both seem to like the openings of canyons, though this one is more spectacular than those out on the coast.
