Observation notes: On June 2nd, 2023 found the web with caterpillars in my apple tree, photographed the caterpillars (06:45 PM) and moved them into my "bug house". By June 16th, 2023 most had pupated and I photographed them again (02:04 PM). On July 9th, 2023 most of the moths had emerged and I photographed one of them (11:20 AM). In 20 years here we have had at least 3 small occurrences of Ermine moth webs, never found more than 3 webs in one year, and seen them only on our property. This year we removed 50 to 100 from our trees and nearly every apple tree in the neighborhood has webs. We also had one web in a pear tree which we've not seen before.
