Observation notes: He was crawling on the ground in the way of foot traffic and he crawled onto this leaf when I put it in front of him to save him from foot traffic. He was not eating that leaf. It just looked black with long black hairs but when I took the picture with flash, it revealed the blue and orange spots. The weather was around 70 degrees and sunny. There were a lot of eastern? Yellow swallowtails flying around nearby.
