Our 2023 fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America online and free. Your support is vital to the project. Please make a recurring or one-time donation to sustain this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Coordinator notes: Rosa, rather than the Chlosyne janais you suggested, I have identified this as "Chlosyne lacinia, Bordered Patch," for two reasons: (1) This sighting image does not show the two white cell spots on the FW shoulders that the janais always has, and more obvious is that (2) This specimen has tiny white dots as a lower border of both orange patches which only the Bordered Patch has. And thanks for all the wonderful sightings you are sharing! You're a star! And appreciated!
