Observation notes: Moth was found on paved street on Lisandra Road in Metchosin, BC Canada. Weather was warm & sunny. When first picked up, it didn't move or try to fly away, even when it's forewings were spread to show the hindwings. However, when placed on the ground again to photo it, and a second attempt was made to pick it up to re-position, it did crawl away to hide in a crack. When removed from the crack with a twig, the moth played dead, with its wings folded together.
