Observation notes: If I were a predator I would probably avoid this larva on the basis of coloration and bristles. First seen crawling fairly rapidly towards me from a sandy cultivated area in my backyard. It had already reached my deck before I was sure I had good photos. So I picked it up and let it do it all over again.
Cool, temps in low 70s F., dry, clear, light breeze.
