Observation notes: Bordered patches were mating under watchful eyes waiting with baited wings atop Tortugas Mt. The hilltop and western slopes had varied and lush blooms following August and September rainfall. The other Hilltoppers of note were black swallowtails.

Coordinator notes: wow, Gordon, do you see that one male (3rd photo) with almost zero white banding on the hindwing? that band varies from orange to white and from wide to narrow, but I've never seen it tending toward obsolete. may I please borrow that image for BofNM?
