Observation notes: Clear 83 high the calm before the storm, close to six inches of rain fell the next 48 hours NOAA. Also saw a few sisters some Acom/lupin blues, skippers, other blues, dusky. others! This individual is far from home as far as we know but looks very fresh to me? Gene, and Lynn Monroe have said there are plants that may possible be used in the laguna mountains? In there book butterflies and there favorite flowering food plants of Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Looks like all areas in the park got good amounts of rain some a little bit too much from tropical storm Kay. Baja got more when it was a cat 3 storm so with any luck strays will head north soon? lets hope so.

Coordinator notes: Snouts may breed in the Banning area close to Palm Springs and they may breed near Caliente in my area (Kern County) where hackberry trees grow...maybe even Hackberry Emperors on occasion, there are at least 3 records in California.-Ken Davenport
