Coordinator notes: Actually, Gulf Fritillaries are common from Florida to California and your source was flawed. However, yours is the first valid record for Lake County as this species continues to extend its range northward in California. Check those Field Guide Range maps, I'm the guy that tracks that information for California, Arizona and Nevada and to some extent Oregon. I would like to publish that record in the annual Season Summary of which I am the Coordinator for 3 states. Your information presented was good, but contact me and give me your actual name so I can credit you and not BAMONA as scientists want names of those who made the discoveries. You can email that to me at kdavenport93306@yahoo.com. If you have other questions, you can always contact me. Ken Davenport
