Observation date: September 05, 2022
Submitted by: Robert Gorman
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: High Heat warnings, along with high humidity, Expected these with this weather. 75-90 % humidity 72 low, high 90-94 first saw this one sitting on the topside of a leaf in the deep shade around 1pm. lost it three times. found it on nectar while eating lunch it was just above my head and behind me by about two feet. Very pleasant lunch guest, very easily flushed like most of what I have found this year. Think its time to grow the host plant as this is the fourth time we have seen it in the yard. Second year in a row, if we looked for it more often I wonder if we would see more of them. Hard to hunt in these hot conditions. also seen giant Swallowtail, western tiger, Anise, Large orange, Cloudless, cabbage, very fresh painted ladies lots more each day, gray hairstreak, Marine blue, Monarch common, gulf frit, mourning Cloak, Funereal Duskywing, Umber Skipper fiery skipper, And of course Hammock Skipper.
