Coordinator notes: I can't argue with your diagnosis. the eyes are heard to read but seem amber. the DFW veins are thickened and black. but that ventral hindwing is something! I went here: https://butterfliesofamerica.com/US-Can-Cat.htm and put "Speyeria aberrations" in the search window and got a couple of similar things. check it out.
