Coordinator notes: This looks like the caterpillar of the White-lined sphinx moth, at least it looks much like the photo in the Powell & Opler book, "Moths of Western North America" (Plate 63 Fig. 29). If I'm wrong and one of the moth-experts see the error, I'll probably heard about it. Only butterflies are suppose to be submitted for my verification but some moths (and caterpillars) get assigned anyway which I try to ID if I can and many who submit photos don't know the difference anyway, caterpillars or winged adults.
