Silver-bordered Fritillary
Boloria selene

Observation date: July 29, 2022
Date notes: Around noon
Submitted by: John Gibbons
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Wet area beside Crooked Pond, Plum Point, NL

Verified date: August 04, 2022
Coordinator notes: I think you’re right…very difficult to tell without the ventral view. Worn individual as well. However, the HW marginal spots appearing more “chevron” shaped makes me lean more towards a Silver-bordered over the usual “triangular” shaped spots of an Arctic. Other Boloria sp. would have a darker central wing appearance. -jmgesell
