Coordinator notes: I think your suggested ID is correct. I suppose it could also be the Western Tiger Swallowtail. The fully grown larva also changes color to brown or maroonish just before pupation. With the two-tailed, some pupae may emerge rather than hibernate until next year...a majority do the latter in Colorado. Some of the adults as a second late summer flight are huge! Mike
