Coordinator notes: Another candidate for dissection: Sympistis badistriga, Sympistis tenuistriga, and Sympistis dinalda all look somewhat similar unless one of the experts says otherwise as to ID. Also, if you come across Sympistis chionanthi / Sympistis forbesi it would be best to have the moth dissected. They also look very similar but have different host plants.
