Eight-spotted Forester
Alypia octomaculata

Observation date: July 20, 2022
Submitted by: rcttrainer
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Looked up to notice this moth on the window of my door. East facing window on a very hot day. We live on a quiet farm that has many wild areas, including the weedy area near this door which is never used. No way to get to the other side for better pic or gently capture for photo. Weeds in this spot near door are mostly wild grape, ragweed, wild cucumber. Moth stayed around for maybe 10-15 minutes then flew down into the vegetation.
