Little Glassywing
Pompeius verna

Observation date: July 16, 2022
Submitted by: Ed Harrison
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Sunny, temp upper 70s F. Skipper on milkweed blossom.
Status: Resident
Verified by: jmgesell
Verified date: July 19, 2022
Coordinator notes: Very worn individual. At first glance it may appear as a Dun Skipper, but subapical FW spots are too prominent. On second photo, you get a glimpse at other prominent spots favoring a Little Glassywing. Duskywings usually perch with their wings wide open or partially closed, not fully folded like this individual, and would have a different wing pattern. -jmgesell
