Observation notes: I have a few lupine plants (host plant) in my yard along with a variety of other native perennials. I cut back the lupine seed pods from last season in the spring this year, but I left the leafy portions. The butterfly is very small at maybe a 1-1/4" wingspan. I have included an action shot of the dorsal side if it helps. I am not sure of the name of the plant it is feeding on in the picture; it's a short groundcover. During the week of July 3, 2022 I saw the same individual or another butterfly of the same species resting on some tall switch grass. I did not get a picture.
