Coordinator notes: The Crescents differs from the Silvery Checkerspot most distinctly when looking at the submarginal spots on the dorsal HWs. Silvery Checkerspots will have cream/yellow centers to one or two spots, whereas Crescents will have solid dark spots in the same location. -jmgesell
