Coordinator notes: No Western Tiger Swallowtails were collected while I was in Oregon or Northern California, but they sure were common. Many Western Tigers and Pale Swallowtails were mud puddling where runoff from Mt. Shasta washed out and over 300 yards of road, mud puddling above the newly created waterfall. The former streambed is now a dry flat streambed. The bridge over the former stream was left intact. Needless to say, the road is closed.-, but open to hikers like me who waded across.-Ken Davenport
