Observation notes: Individual checkered-skipper taking nectar from stinging serpent flowers established along an arroyo at the Achenbach Canyon Trailhead of the Organ Mountains. To avoid the wind, it would go-to-ground under the plant, occasionally. The midday was hot, moderately windy, and under high cloud cover.

Coordinator notes: with such a pale underside one might think this is Desert C-S. but all the dorsal marks indicate the Comon/White complex. which apparently can have very pale undersides.
