Coordinator notes: This is a female Checkered White...on the Western White (Pontia occidentalis - aka Western Peak White) the black markings on the forewings (and hindwings) is more extensive to make greater apical contact and produce distinct full or fuller enclosed white spots, and usually the underside is veined with visually green scales. (Western Peak White because males are most commonly found mate locating on hilltops). Mike
