Observation notes: Hill-topping in high hills (~1300 feet) of northern San Diego area, west of I-15 "Del Dios" community, in chaparral dominated by Buckwheat, Sage and Mountain Mahogany. Multiple flyers were seen in this one location with one individual very persistent in hanging out despite my attempts to photograph. Clear and warm, breezy with coastal fog visible to the west. Coloration seemed to vary with perspective, with iridescence sometimes visible in both upper and lower wings.
