Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Nectaring on alfalfa blossoms in our yard. Looking at the photos, I think I can see some of the gray inner edging around the rufous spots on the forward wing which are supposed to distinguish Meridian from the more common Horace's.

Coordinator notes: Rozelle, in my consultation with Andy Warren, he persuaded me that this is Horace's Duskywing. here is what he said: "I think meridianus would have overall smaller dark blotches on the forewing, and considerably more pale edging to the spots... It's a tough call, but this one does not stand out as too far off the horatius phenotype, and does not quite seem to reach meridianus... The transition between the two species in NM certainly deserves more study though! so I am approving your terrific photos as Horace's. thanks for submitting!
