  Sighting 1327900

Observation date: June 04, 2022
Submitted by: dawittrock2231
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Near a floodlight on my deck. I originally thought this was O. flaviventata, but I no longer think this is just a very worn moth, but rather it is O. tinctaria. It has been assigned to genus at BG.
Status: Resident
Verified by: Ilona L.
Verified date: June 19, 2022
Coordinator notes: Another moth that requires dissection. Quote from BG - "The other 2 spp., tinctaria and exornata (mis-spelled as ornata on MPG Plate 32.5) are practically impossible to separate except by genitalia." Placed as Orthofidonia tinctaria since the photo seems to match best with the photos I have looked at.
